Course description

This subject provides basic aviation knowledge that is essential for students to enter the aviation industries. Appreciating history will motivate students to learn more about the industry. The evolution of aviation throughout the last century has enabled mankind to change air transportation industry tremendously into becoming the number one passenger transporter. Despite of knowing the growth of the industry, it also provides the knowledge regarding the parts and functions of the aircraft components.

What will i learn?

• Discuss about types of airplanes and their applications, how airplanes fly, four forces acted on aircraft and how a jet engine work, how helicopters work compare to airplane and their advantages (C2, PLO1).
• Demonstrate the importance of flight instruments; state about six basic flight instruments and modern technologies in flight instruments (C3, PLO5).
• Analyse the business model and the license required by the airlines (C4, PLO2).
